How To Succeed

This Time Next Week

So excited for this time next week we will be in AUSome (thanks Alyssa) Austin, Texas. We have been asked by our good friends at Fashion Leak to be part of a sponsored event next Saturday November 7th held at Buy Definition on S. Congress Street. We will be hosting the event with two extremely talented designers, Boudoir Queen and John Renaud (who designed that GORG dress in the picture above.) We are designing a few exclusive pieces that will be sold only at the event from 1 to 4 PM. So if you're in Austin come by and say HAY!

Austin is one of our favorite cities and we are so excited for this well deserved holiday!

It Pays To Be Mean

So excited to announce that three I Love Factory pieces were spotted on last nights episode of Gossip Girl (on those lovable mean girls.) Featured above the Prospect, the Blazing Star, and the Dianthus Star. The above picture was taken by a friend of ours a few months ago during the filming of last nights episode. Thank you to everyone in the costume department at GG for being so good to us! We love the show!

The Top Five

After thoroughly scouring the assemblage of looks on style.com i have finally selected my finest five of Spring 2010. There were many outstanding presentations this September, however, these five designers served up undeniable collections infused with seductive silhouettes and artful adornments.

Lanvin - Simply Sweet
Alber Elbaz, you are precious! From capacious collars to delicate draping you've done it again...I wanted every garment, shoe, bag and accessory that traipsed down the runway. Staying true to Jeanne Lanvins' millinery beginnings, Elbaz presented classic ensembles oozing with embellishments.

Alexander McQueen - Minotaur Space Cadet
Alexander, you still shock me. I wish we were friends. And yes, those shoes are on there twice because given the opportunity I don't think I could decide which color I'd want. Your models looked like mesmeric minotaurs clomping down the runway in perfectly sculpted and patterned frocks.

Chanel - Cult Classic
Monsieur Lagerfeld, you completely fascinate me. Thick layers, classic fabrics, and a neutral color palette with surprising pops of color provided a whimsical setting for the straw clad stage at Chanel. Ballet like footwear, darling hair adornments, and pretty little purses transformed these girls into true Lagerfeld ladies.

Miu Miu - Patterned Princess
Miuccia Prada sent a neat assortment of playful patterns down the runway at Miu Miu. I always end up lusting after one of her dresses, such as !THIS!, however this time I wanted the whole collection. Each look was a perfect marriage between drape and tailoring, pattern and clashing, masculine and feminine. As usual, her sense of proportion was ever prevalent.

John Galliano - A Doll Faced Revolution
And the finest is...YOU! Everything about this collection is perfect, and it will probably inspire me for the rest of my life. John Galliano, how can i thank you enough? Meticulously embellished platforms paired with dainty girlish socks...bold, rich fabrics masked by airy chiffons and light laces...delicate, lady-like gloves and chunky pearl...pale faces with romantic head pieces...Perfection, like a Baroque fairy tale.

Anniversary Party

October 20, 2009 marks our one year anniversary! We launched our little brand last October with the above article in Women's Wear Daily. It has been a tremendous year for us both, and we are so very thankful to all of our friends and family that have supported us along the way.

Most of all THANK YOU to everyone who has written about us or featured us this year! We look forward to a long lasting relationship with you all. Currently we are back in the factory working on the still untitled third collection and some truly unique collaborations.

Here's to another great year!

Aphrodite

I found this while browsing the internet last night! I Love Factory was featured in the June 2009 issue of L'Officiel Hellas. This version is from Athens, Greece. It always amazes me the reach you can have online! So awesome.

We are proud to be featured in a magazine that has been around since 1921. It was first published in Paris, and is credited with launching the careers of some our all time favorite designers including Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Cristobal Balenciaga and Pierre Balmain. It became known as "the Bible of fashion and high society."

We can get down with that. ;-)

Thank you L'Officiel!

Fashion Leak

Laurel and I were honored when Jacqueline Fernandez, Creative Director and Editor of Bleach Online and FashionLeak.org, asked us to be a part of Fashion Leak's designer intro series. In a nutshell Fashion Leak was created as an introspective expose on the most innovative designers working today, so you can imagine our excitement to be a part of something like this!

The girls from Fashion Leak booked a flight up to NYC and stopped by a shoot we were having at Fast Ashleys with art directors We Came In Peace and photographer Michael Abrego to interview Laurel and I, and get a close up behind the scenes view of what we do. The Fashion Leak crew Jacqueline, Michelle and Tiffany are awesome and we had the best time hanging out with them during their stay in New York.

Thank you to everyone who made it a successful shoot and a very special thank you to Fashion Leak for asking us to be a part of this!

Love Affair

Paris, there are no words to describe the enchantment of the city. Such a beautiful urban space with so much rich culture, history and oh the food! Home of some of our favorite and most admired designers, in honor of Paris Fashion Week taking place now here is a collection of pictures I took while roaming those magnificent streets.
