Kim Swift and Andrew Stevens at it again. The brains behind We Came In Peace have designed a stage made up of three hundred traffic cones at this years VirginMobile Free Fest at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland. Brilliant!
The beautiful sketch above was drawn by a very talented Japanese artist by the name of Miyuki Ohashi. Miyuki has been holding exhibitions since 1999 around Tokyo and Hong Kong, using fashion and art that she falls in love with as inspiration for her illustrations. We are honored that she chose I Love Factory as her inspiration for this piece. "I discovered your wonderful pieces in magazine Madame Figaro here in Japan and was compelled to create this sketch," said Miyuki.
We LOVE when our ladies send us pictures of them donning their bespoke I Love Factory headgear. It is the icing on the cake for us to see all of you looking so damn fabulous! If you have pictures of you rocking your custom I Love Factory piece please email them to ask_us@ilovefactorybk.com, and we will happily post it up on the blog. Thank you so much for your continued support!
All Photos Taken by Alyssa Lori Morano for Scatterheart Travel
It's been a long time in the making but recent events have inspired our good friend Alyssa to launch her own travel and adventure blog. And we couldn't be more excited! Alyssa takes so much from every experience she has around the world. She has traveled to some of the most remote locations, living with tribes in the jungles of Central America, taking wooden boats up the Meekong River in Southeast Asia and has road tripped all around Western Europe. That is just the half of it. She is an extremely talented photographer who really understands the environment she is in and knows how to capture the moment. She has won numerous awards for her travel photography and continues to be an inspiration to all who know her.
To milliners a hat is representative of a mood, and since we are all human (if you're reading this and you're not human, that's cool too!) we know it's possible to wear many hats in one day. That is where we drew our inspiration for the photo shoot we had with some of our most special pieces on Friday. Our goal was to convey the many moods of a woman throughout her day, week or year, and remind everyone that for every mood there is a beautiful hat to top it off.
This was another successful collaborative effort between the factory and all those great minds that surround us. Thank you to Jacqueline and Michelle at Fashion Leak and Bleach Online for asking us to be a part of the Fashion Leak series. Thank you to photographer, Michael Abrego and Fast Ashleys Studios for the amazing studio space. Nicole Greener for the FABULOUS hair and make-up. Our models who were working it in all ways Laura and Ellison, thank you ladies. And of course our good friends Kim Swift and Andrew Stevens from We Came In Peace always know how to make any idea take shape and form. They specialize in turning it out!
Our interview with Fashion Leak www.fashionleak.org will be up in September. Keep you posted. So excited to see it!
It's been a little while since our last blog. It's crazy how New York can seriously consume you, and so much time will pass without you even realizing! Sunday mornings are great for reflection on the week past and planning for the week ahead. Sunday morning means coffee, muffins and bagels, what's not to love!
