Laurel was asked by Forbes reporter about town Hannah Elliott to photograph the press preview of the soon to be open to the public Balenciaga : Spanish Master Exhibit at the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute.

Little Green Dresses

Our very own Laurel St. Romain and friend Sarah Cumming are featured in the new DIY design book by Tina Sparkles titled "Little Green Dresses." A copy of the book was sent to the factory last week and we were ecstatic to see one of our very own pieces, a rainbow colored headband (above) made it into the styling of the book! I Love Factory, has a special mention in the Acknowledgements too!!! The book is extremely well thought out, easy to follow and includes over fifty original patterns. We LOVE it!

Celebrate The Birthday Boo

This past weekend we celebrated Memorial Day in Long Island at the Garbushian residence. Christopher was so excited to see his family, and I was excited to get out of the city and eat all the fabulous food his Mom takes so much time to prepare.

Christopher's birthday is this Friday June 4th and his family celebrated by having a wonderful BBQ filled with all his favorite foods. His Mom even got him the most DELICIOUS custom strawberry shortcake! YUM!!

Laurel and I had a grand time last night at Taco Tuesday held at Hudson Terrace. The event was jam PACKED by the time we arrived with our entourage in tow. This Tuesday's event was held to benefit Breast Cancer Research. The lovely ladies of Betsey Johnson battled it out with the glamorous Gilt Groupe girls to see who could raise more during a silent auction. A date with one of Betsey's ladies went for $250. YAY!

Yummy Taco's, cheap drinks, lots of great music to dance to, and it's all for a good cause! Did I mention the space is FAB! Best way to spend a Tuesday evening under the stars over looking all of New York City.

(I'll clue you in on a little secret, there are whispers of an I Love Factory Taco Tuesday this Summer, and you must all come out to support. Stay tuned!)

Today Laurel and I took an essential break from the working at the factory and decided to go play in the park with our new best friend Lucy. Lucy loves to go out for walks and has a photographic memory of everything she sees along the way.

Prospect Park has so much to offer and we really enjoy taking advantage of it during these gorgeous Spring days. And did I mention there is going to be a TON of really great FREE concerts going on this Summer??? YAY!

Looks like these factory workers are going to be taking plenty of play breaks in the park.

Travis Wayne has been hard at work the past few months traveling the world in search of emerging designers to stock his new Stanton Street storefront. Travis had a very clear vision for his boutique and who is clientele will be. We worked closely with him to create exclusive I Love Factory pieces that truly fit the Convent aesthetic.

Convent opens today at 12PM and is located at 179 Stanton Street between Clinton and Attorney on Manhattan's Lower East Side. It's a beautiful day to shop and be fabulous!

His designs demanded the respect and attention of editors and bloggers around the world. And never once did he compromise his creativity. And for that we respect and admire Alexander McQueen.

His countless collaborations with millinery master Philip Treacy are a constant source of inspiration for these two factory workers.

He will forever be the great one.

Laurel and I were asked to design the hats and headpieces for BENSONI's FW2010 Collection. We were so excited on Friday February 12th to see the custom pieces and hard work from our past two collections marching down the runway. It was a FAB collaboration! I Love Factory was the perfect compliment to BENSONI's collection. Congratulations to Sonia and Benjamin on a beautiful collection! We look forward to working with this design duo in the future.

Laurel and I have been asked to participate in a contest that the Biography Channel in Germany is running to promote the new season of one of our favorite shows Project Runway. One winner and a friend will be flown to New York via Air Berlin, be put up in a fancy hotel and will have the opportunity during their five day stay here in the city to meet with none other than I Love Factory and We Came In Peace at our headquarters on the Lower East Side.

Life In The ATX

It is our first day back in New York City after a relaxing five days spent in Austin, Texas. So much space and green with such a big sky above. We had so much fun getting to see old friends, meeting new, eating tons of good food and going with the flow.

Spending time with our friends Danny and Mary Ellen and our super cool goddaughter Ryder Blue. Checking out the vintage finds at Feathers and Prototype. Enjoying FAB lunches with Pam at the Four Seasons and of course drinking 24 Lone Stars with our awesome host Hunter.

We even had time for a fun photo shoot with Dawn of Boudoir Queen at her beautiful estate on Saturday with some of the most FABULOUS vintage clothing we have ever laid eyes on.

Saturday November 7th we participated in a Fashion Leak sponsored event at Buy Definition along with Boudoir Queen and John Renaud. Thank you to everyone at Fashion Leak and Buy Definition for inviting us to be part of such a fantastic event!

For Halloween we decided to do it up proper factory style and play dead celebrity dress up as two of our favorite people Andy and Edie. We followed along as accomplices to the one and only diamond thief extraordinaire, Kim Swift. After four parties and lots of street action we headed to one last place and bumped into our good friend Mr. Nicky Digital. Thank you to Nicky for the pictures!

It was such a good night and we saw so many amazing costumes! Besides Perez Hilton as Lady Gaga our favorties were Rachel Zoe and her styling team and Cameron Diaz in Something About Mary.

After thoroughly scouring the assemblage of looks on style.com i have finally selected my finest five of Spring 2010. There were many outstanding presentations this September, however, these five designers served up undeniable collections infused with seductive silhouettes and artful adornments.

Lanvin - Simply Sweet

Alber Elbaz, you are precious! From capacious collars to delicate draping you've done it again...I wanted every garment, shoe, bag and accessory that traipsed down the runway. Staying true to Jeanne Lanvins' millinery beginnings, Elbaz presented classic ensembles oozing with embellishments.

Alexander McQueen - Minotaur Space Cadet

Alexander, you still shock me. I wish we were friends. And yes, those shoes are on there twice because given the opportunity I don't think I could decide which color I'd want. Your models looked like mesmeric minotaurs clomping down the runway in perfectly sculpted and patterned frocks.

Chanel - Cult Classic

Monsieur Lagerfeld, you completely fascinate me. Thick layers, classic fabrics, and a neutral color palette with surprising pops of color provided a whimsical setting for the straw clad stage at Chanel. Ballet like footwear, darling hair adornments, and pretty little purses transformed these girls into true Lagerfeld ladies.

Miu Miu - Patterned Princess

Miuccia Prada sent a neat assortment of playful patterns down the runway at Miu Miu. I always end up lusting after one of her dresses, such as !THIS!, however this time I wanted the whole collection. Each look was a perfect marriage between drape and tailoring, pattern and clashing, masculine and feminine. As usual, her sense of proportion was ever prevalent.

John Galliano - A Doll Faced Revolution

And the finest is...YOU! Everything about this collection is perfect, and it will probably inspire me for the rest of my life. John Galliano, how can i thank you enough? Meticulously embellished platforms paired with dainty girlish socks...bold, rich fabrics masked by airy chiffons and light laces...delicate, lady-like gloves and chunky pearl...pale faces with romantic head pieces...Perfection, like a Baroque fairy tale.
